As a wannabe Cape Cod local (I've summered since I was 10 days old so basically the same thing) you can imagine the thrill I felt when hearing about the new shack being added at Saquatucket Harbor. While I was too wiped to make it the first night my family went they did manage to bring me back some fries and HOT DAMN WERE THEY GOOD. so good that I needed to go back.
I will say my first "hands on" experience was a bit disappointing. I went on a tuesday night around 7:45 (they close at 8:30) for one thing and one thing only: chicken tenders and fries. after waiting in line for around 6 minutes I hungrily stepped up to the window to place my order, only to be told they weren't taking food orders for 15 minutes. while my stomach grumbled, I'm not a monster and know what the food industry is like so i completely understood. given that i live a mere 4 minute (3 if you have an iron foot like me sorry mom) drive from the shack, i kindly asked if i could leave my order anyways so that i could go home and then come back once they had time to catch up with their orders. after a slight bicker back and forth between myself and the cashier her answer was decided. i could not leave my order (even though i explained i knew there'd be a wait and just wanted to leave the order so i could go home) but i COULD call them in 15 minutes. i sped home and called immediately, where they took my order. i was a bit flabbergasted but at that point i was so hungry i didn't really care.
so 20 minutes roll by and i'm back at dockside. the line and crowd has subsided, and the staff was much friendlier. they apologized for the inconvenience and brought my food out to me.
the food itself was very good and worth waiting for. opening any new business is difficult and i think they will get things under control with time. i wish the staff the best of luck. i will be returning for those fries. -

Fantastic new addition to Mid--Cape dining options. Beautiful marina view. Order from the counter and eat at a clean picnic or smaller table on the deck.
Prices are reasonable and the food is terrific, but portions are on the small side.
Our party tried the crab cake appetizer which was all crab with a spicy remoulade sauce. Scallop roll was on the smaller side but the low price reflected that.
The Ahi Tuna app was done perfectly and served cool with wasabi, soy sauce, and ginger. Wonderful summer appetizer.
There was no wait for us on a sunny Friday late afternoon, so if you can't stand the long waits at more expensive places, this is the place for you.
Decent beer, wine, and hard cider selection.
Not a place for gluten-free diners as only a few dishes are GF, (swordfish and tuna, plus salads)
Options for children and dog-friendly deck.
Ample parking us a huge plus. -

Pretty decent little place, we stopped in after a fishing trip for a little pick me up. I got a burger and my wife got the fish tacos. Food was great and they had some good music playing too. The view there is really amazing you can watch the boats come in and out, it's a little gem.

This place has every possibility of a 4 star review - great location but mediocre food....EXCEPT they do not offer water in anything but single use plastic bottles. This upsets me so much = 1 star. Please offer tap water in reusable glasses. Don't kill our oceans, Dockside. #plasticocean would also be an add if they used metal silverware to avoid more ecological warfare.
On the food side- lobster roll was best option. Lobster tacos are an expensive miss. Lobster meat mixed w salsa=meh. Clam chowder is fine but tastes more like a corn chowder w clam as an afterthought. -

We took a 10 mile bike ride to check out the new kid on the harbor. The view is spectacular! The food was also very tasty, but the three stars is simply because the value just wasn't there. We split the Seafood Combo for $22.95 and left just barely satisfied - 3 shrimp, 3 scallops, 1 smallIsh piece of fish. The next day we went to our "old faithful" seafood shack in Orleans. $26.95 and it included 3 shrimp, 2 good size pieces of fish, and more scallops and whole belly clams than we could eat (we always have another meal's worth of leftovers)! The attached pictures say it all... Dockside has very good food, but portion control was obvious.
